Elephants are the heaviest land animals. They are also intelligent and have good memories.

There are two species: one lives in Africa, another in India.

They use their long trunks almost like an  arm to put food and  water in their mouths.

Foxes  are  small  wild

dogs with short legs

and  big bushy tails.

The red fox lives in woodland and feeds on small animals, insects and  fruit. Foxes ears give them very good hearing.

Apart from the big cats

like lions and   tigers,

most  wild  members

of  the cat  family are small.

They are nocturnal animals, they hunt birds and small mammals for food.                                                                                                                                                                

Tigers  are  the   biggest  of  all   cats. They  live  in  the  grassland  and  forest  of  Asia .They  kill  animals  and  eat  them.

The giant panda is a  bear found in China. There are more than  1.500 giant pandas

Giant pandas usually only eat bamboo.

Lions are the largest predators in

Africa. Apart from humans the lion has

no enemies and is known as the

“king of the beasts”.

They live in groups called troops high in  the tropical  forests  of America, Africa  and Asia.  Monkeys  eat  plants, birds  eggs, small animals  and  insects.

They use their tails as an

extra hand when swinging

 through the branches.

In many ways wild dogs look

and behave like domestic dogs,

and they are related.

Wild dogs are usually afraid

of humans and cannot be trained.

The wild dogs live all over the world.
